In this post I will show you the easiest way for decorating chocolate cakes. All you need is a potato peeler, a chocolate bar and you are set.
This cake is a must try to all chocolate lovers. Its moist, rich, and soooo chocolaty. It melts in you mouth with every bite. You can click on the links below to see how to make the cake and the frosting.
You will need…
- Chocolate cake
- Chocolate frosting
- 1 Milk Chocolate bar or Dark chocolate bar, depends on what you like
- Powder sugar, optional
Use a potato peeler to grate the chocolate bar to get small curls. Make sure that the chocolate is at room temperature as it help the chocolate to curl up nicely.
Grate enough chocolate to use as topping for the cake.
Prepare the cake board or dish by placing 4 pieces of wax or parchment paper. This will prevent the serving plate from getting dirty and will give the cake a neat clean finish.
Place the first layer of cake and add around a cup of frosting.
Spread the frosting to cover the cake.
Place the second layer of cake on top.
And again start by frosting the sides first then the top. Don’t bother with making the top all neat because its going to be covered with all the chocolate curls. Just focus spreading the frosting nicely on the sides.
Now carefully place the grated chocolate curls on top of the cake, be careful not to break them. Once done, carefully remove the wax paper from under the cake.
If u like, you can sprinkle a little powder sugar on top. And thats it, the cake is ready to be served.
