Fruit Salad

Since I was small my Mama has always made fruit salad this way. She always said that she can survive on fruits alone.

The special thing about this fruit salad is that; the longer it stays in the fridge, the better it tastes.

The types of fruits used depends on what you like and what’s in season. As long as the fruits are fresh, the salad will turn out perfect every time.

My Mama’s way of making fruit salad also includes adding fruit juice. This too depends on what you like and what you have available.

You will need:

  • Fruits
  • Fruit Juice

* As I mentioned before, this depends on what you like. This time I used apples, oranges, pears, grapes, kiwi and apricots

** Again this depends on what you like. This time I used mango juice.

Direction:

Fruit Salad - Fruits

Choose the fruits you like and what’s in season. There is no specific amount to this recipe. You can cut as much as you like and need.

Fruit Salad - Cut all fruits

Start by cutting all the fruits.

Fruit Salad - Aadd to juice

In a bowl, pour the juice, then mix in the fruits. Add enough juice to cover all the fruits.

Fruit Salad - Serve

Let it set for a while. My advice would be to let it sit over night. It would taste better the next day. But if you cant wait then just dig in. There you have it, a simple and healthy fruit salad.

Happy cutting! and as we say in Arabic “Sahha Wi Afia”

  1. HI Laila!
This fruit salad sounds a lot like the one that I use.. soaking in fruit juice is great, the fruit absorbs the flavour and softens too, much better than covering it with some sugary glaze!
I usually use mango nectar, and always put passionfruit pulp for a crunch.
P.S. Thanks for commenting on my blog 🙂 You’re a lot more devoted than I am to cooking/blogging haha!

    1. U r right … after keeping the fruit salad for a day … just put it in a blender .. and u got the most wonderful fruit cocktail … any fruit combinations would do .. anythin in the season …Thanx for the comment Bonnie 🙂
