I love strawberries. If its fresh, dried, juiced, chocolate dipped, anything that has strawberries I will love. So when I made this strawberry cake; it immediately became one of my favorites.
This cake has lots and lots of strawberries. Its filled with strawberries and topped with many more.
You will need:
- Sponge cake
- Strawberry filling
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 500 grams strawberries, two packets
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
Prepare the strawberries by slicing each in half and removing the green part. Just keep one strawberry whole. It will be placed in the center of the cake.
Cut the sponge cake into two layers. You can have more layers if you choose.
Place the first cake layer on a cake board and place four strips of wax paper under it. This will keep the board or dish clean and give it a neat finish.
Using a spoon, add the pineapple juice. This will make the cake moist and add to its flavor.
Spread the strawberry filling.
Then place the second layer of cake and add pineapple juice to it.
Frost the whole cake with the whipped cream. Start with the sides of the cake then finish the top.
Add the strawberry halves. Start at the center of the cake by adding the one we kept as whole, then place the halves around it in circle until you cover it all. Once done, remove the wax paper from under the cake carefully.
Its now ready to be served.
